Al Bailey started playing around with records at the age of 13 when his parents bought a hotel with a Disco in the basement on his return to the UK after living in Spain.

With his friends they would play with the many Sugar Hill, Disco and Street Sounds records in the resident DJ’s collection and breakdance to the emerging Funk/Breaks/Hip-Hop sounds that were developing in the Mid Eighties.

With the introduction to the Hip Hop Scene later that decade of many great artists and bands such as Public Enemy, NWA, EPMD and Digital Underground the edgier sounds coupled with an introduction to working in a local Night Club on the weekends it provided Al with the platform to start playing his records out.

This time was the most influential on Al as Hip Hop progressed towards the more dance floor friendly sounds of acts such as the Ragga Twins, Shut Up and Dance and the faster edgier sound of early Hard Core and Jungle Breaks.

Through the heady Rave days of the early nineties Al was playing at several night clubs and at most of the now legendary free parties to take place on the beautiful beaches and mountains of West Wales.

Since the launch of our very own CN Williams first venture Clubscene, Al has been a nigh permanent fixture and has played out of the ReelHouse stable since its inception.

Having played in Spain, Italy, Greece, and held several Residencies in the Cardiff area Al has a wealth of experience in delivering what the crowd wants.

Sticking to its guns the DogHouse started with a Vinyl  Show and has vowed to continue that way.

With a penchant for Dirty sounding Disco Funk and Breaks the DogHouse is now renowned for delivering that dirty sound whenever it plays.

Live Loud and On Vinyl.
